     Or died 4/1913. Educated at Hungerford Collegiate Institute., was there when the Civil War broke out. With his fathers consent necessary because of his age, enlisted in Co. B 10th NY Artillery on 8/21/1862 as a Private, promoted 12/16/1862 to Corporal. Discharged on 7/23/1865 with only one furlough during service. Was a carpenter in 1860 to at least 1865. Was also a merchant and smith. Was a tinsmith in 1870. Had a hardware store in Belleville, Jefferson Co., NY by 1870 to at least 1900 (over 50 years total). Personal estate valued at $300 in 1870.
Lived with parents in 1850 to at least 1860. Lived in yellow house across from creamery in Adams, NY. Lived in Belleville in 1870 to at least 1900.
